Again this year, Herlihy Moving & Storage is proud to sponsor the White Christmas Food Drive for residents in need who live in Grove City, Harrisburg, and Orient, Ohio. This program of The Southwest Christian Ministerial Association has been running for more than 30 years.
Through this all-volunteer program, we’re helping to provide boxes of food for more than 225 families over the holidays. We donate the use of a Mayflower Portable Storage Container (Pod), including pickup and delivery services.
This year, 16 area schools – both parochial and in the South-Western City School – will collect canned and boxed items such as pastas, boxed meals, canned vegetables and cereal. Schools also donate money. The Ministerial Association will add about $3,000 worth of perishable items from money raised through donations.
About 400 volunteers will prepare boxes filled with donated canned and boxed items. Each family also receives a pound of bacon, a dozen eggs, a loaf of bread, five pounds of potatoes, a whole chicken and fresh fruit.
Food boxes will be distributed between noon and 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 22 at the school cafeteria of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church at 3730 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio. Anyone who would like to receive a food box may call the Church at (614) 875-3322 weekdays between 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Any excess food will be donated to the Grove City Food Pantry.
Herlihy Moving & Storage has been a proud member of the Columbus and Grove City, Ohio communities for more than 20 years. We consider it an honor to give back to communities that have done so much for our family and our business. Many thanks to The Southwest Christian Ministerial Association for helping us reach out to families at the holidays.
