Generally, butterflies are most active during periods of bright, clear sunlight. And at the Conservatory, the butterflies receive extra care and nutrition to live long lives, often longer than they would in the wild. Indeed a crowd-pleasing favorite, this Blooms & Butterflies exhibit provides visitors a warm, sunny tropical escape in early spring.
2. Central Ohio Folk Festival — May 6-7, 2023, Highbanks Metro Park, 9466 Columbus Pike, Lewis Center, OH
Ready to kick back and enjoy some of the best folk music the Midwest offers? You’ll love hanging out at the Highbanks Metro Park while you relax to the fun sounds presented by the Central Ohio Folk Festival. This year’s lineup includes guitarist Bryce Mullins and Shannon Clark & The Sugar. Be sure to bring the kids along, as you’ll have plenty of activities for the whole family. The festival offers three performing stages, crafts for young kiddos, plenty of food, and community singalongs. The event is free, but donations are welcome, and tickets are not required.
3. Columbus Taco Fest — May 14-15, 2023, Geonoa Park, 303 W Broad St., Columbus, OH
Beyond Taco Tuesday — Columbus Taco Fest will become your new favorite taco-themed event. The Festival is in its 6th year, and it keeps getting better. Known as one of Columbus’s best food festivals, Taco Fest is the perfect way to satisfy your tastebuds while enjoying the area. You’ll get to experience live music, and a wide selection of taco options Children and pets are welcome. So, come ready to kick back with a fantastic plate of tacos and enjoy the festival’s live music. Admission is free, but you’ll want to show up early to ensure you hit up your favorite food trucks before they sell out.
4. Columbus Arts Festival, June 9-11, 2023, Downtown Columbus Riverfront in the Scioto Mile
One of the nation’s most acclaimed arts festivals, the Columbus Arts Festival has grown to become one of the best! The Columbus Arts Festival attracts the nation’s top artists and art enthusiasts from all over the country. This year’s event features over 200 visual artists, three performance stages, artist demonstrations, hands-on art activities for the kids, dozens of food vendors, and more. The Columbus Arts Festival is free for all family members.
