How to Move When You Only Have a Month’s Notice

Many moving guides suggest starting the process months in advance. But what if you only have a few weeks? What do you do then?
Moving on short notice is hard, but not impossible. If you take these tips, you can get through to moving process with less stress.
Make a Plan You Can Follow
Most people’s moving plans are overly ambitious. You, on the other hand, might not have any choice. But you also don’t want to burn out on the first day.
Be realistic about how much time you can pack each day. If you can, take time off from work and other obligations. Get plenty of sleep, so you have the energy to keep going.
Make a moving checklist. Each night, revisit your progress. If you need to make adjustments to the plan, do it as early as possible.
Ask for Help
Moving is often a group effort. When you don’t have a moment to lose, it’s a necessity.
Ask your friends. Ask your family. Bring over the organization master you know and let them go to town on decluttering your home in a hurry.
Just make sure to ask people you like working with. You don’t need to have extra conflict over the stuff you’re not keeping.
