Herlihy Moving & Storage was proud to sponsor the 2016 White Christmas Food Drive of the Southwest Christian Ministerial Association. Through this all-volunteer program, we helped to provide food for more than 170 families over the holidays.
On Friday, December 23, 177 families from Grove City, Harrisburg and Orient, Ohio were able to pick up ingredients for a nourishing Christmas dinner at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help school cafeteria in Grove City.
During this year’s White Christmas Food Drive, 19 area schools collected non-perishable items such as pastas, boxed meals, canned vegetables and cereal. Hundreds of volunteers gathered to sort thousands of donated items into individual boxes to be donated to families. Leftover food was donated to the Grove City Food Pantry.
White Christmas Program Coordinator Patrick Fahy wrote to thank Herlihy for our contribution of a Mayflower Portable Storage Container and transportation services. “The support of the community was overwhelming and has made a difference this Christmas season to many area families in need,” he said. “We appreciate your thoughtfulness and continued support of this program. Please compliment your representative, Clyde Eastwood, for his professionalism, as he did a fantastic job of setting the unit up exactly where we needed it.”
Herlihy Moving & Storage has been a proud member of the Columbus and Grove City, Ohio communities for more than 20 years. We consider it an honor to give back to communities that have done so much for our family and our business. We appreciate the opportunity to work with The Southwest Christian Ministerial Association in making the Christmas season a little brighter for local families.
