Our Athens office was happy to assist with the annual Railfair at the Athens Market on State Street Mall on December 10 and 11. This event offers train lovers of all ages a chance to experience working model trains.
Put on by the The Railroad Model & Historical Society of Southeastern Ohio, this free event featured more than a dozen model train layouts, including operating trains in G, O, HO and N scales. In addition to all the operating layouts, Railfair featured a raffle and several railroad-related displays.
In conjunction with Railfair, the Children’s Discovery Museum held special exhibits and activities for kids featuring the “Science of Railroading” on Sunday, December 11.
Driver Glenn Rutter helped move the layouts into the mall on Friday afternoon. One of the featured layouts belongs to the grandson of Roy Bivens, sales manager for our Athens office. Roy helped his grandson build the layout.
Herlihy Moving & Storage has proudly served Athens and southeastern Ohio for many years. We consider it an honor to give back to communities that have done so much for our family and our business.
